AEVIT - 25

Analfabetismo Emergente Virus-25

As part of a global Ideathon at Miami Ad School, we were challenged to tackle a real-world social issue and turn it into a campaign that could make people stop, feel, and act.

Analfabetismo Emergente Virus-25 (AEVIT-25) weaponizes the panic of a fictional viral outbreak to make the world feel what it has long ignored: illiteracy is the most silent, devastating epidemic of all.

Built on a simple truth, we only react to danger when it sounds dangerous. Illiteracy destroys futures slowly, so it rarely sparks urgency. AEVIT-25 gives it a new face and the gravity of a real epidemic: a fictional virus spreading across the world.

The campaign begins with whispers of an outbreak. Pandemic-style headlines, doctors, travellers and influencers describe an invisible virus that steals opportunity instead of breath. Faces become maps of forgotten classrooms. Then comes the reveal: the virus was never biological. It was the absence of education.

By framing illiteracy like a crisis, the campaign doesn't just inform. It jolts, disturbs and awakens. Because when a crisis is framed like a crisis, the world finally listens.
